GATE is the program for students who have been identified as Gifted and Talented. Identification is determined by a combination of Standardized Test Scores, Specialized Tests administered by the School Psychologist, and Teacher recommendation.

The GATE Program offers opportunities for these students to go beyond their regular classroom assignments and curriculum to explore areas such as science, art, literature, technology and much more in both fun and creative ways.

G.A.T.E. Mrs. Keene directed the play Little Miss Gingerbread, which was preformed by T.B.’s 4 –7 grade G.A.T.E. students. The 18 performers planned, designed and created their set for the play. Each character memorized about 30 lines of dialog. During the 4 weeks of rehearsals, the students had a chance to play theater games and do some improvisations. There were 3 shows on Tues, May 12, 2009, one for the 3rd and 4th graders, one for the 5th and 6th graders, and finally one for the families and friends of the actors.
