||We believe very strongly in integrating music and other fine arts into our classrooms. Classes are given in music instruction, violin and band. We are very fortunate to have wonderful teachers who provide this instruction to our students.
The Tierra Buena Bands gave a wonderful Spring Concert on April 16, 2009. The Beginning Band played as well or better than ever, and was one of the largest groups TB has had. The Intermediate Band featured the Trombone section with a fun sliding solo. A lot of hard work went into that group's music. The Advanced Band was in top form playing some very challenging music, and making it sound like much older students were playing. Everyone enjoyed the cooler temperatures also.
The final gig of the season is Graduation. The Intermediate and Advanced Bands (minus the 8th graders of course) combine for the biggest performance of the year for them. Parental support has been a great boon to all of the students. And many thanks to all of the parents who have supported our weekly Popcorn Sale. We couldn't have done it without you. -Mr. Hall
Our Orchestra, combined with B.V. and A.K. went to “Music in the Parks, Competition and Festivals” on May 9, 2009. The day began with a competition with many other schools from around Northern California. Then all the contestants went for a fun day at Discovery Kingdom where they waited for the announcement of the winners. (Drum roll please...) We won! First Place in our division! We received a beautiful trophy, however, it will be displayed at Butte Vista at this time.
